What is it?

An elite series brought by Spice Route’s single-vineyard series – named after ‘De Bron’ – an old Dutch nickname for the town of Malmesbury referring to the thermal spring that attracted people from the Cape to the warm, dry air of the Swartland’s Klein Amoskuil farm. It relies on winter rainfall and the underground spring as its sole source of hydration.

Spice Route Terra de Bron wines are a once-off of the best vineyards that Spice Route has in a particular year.

Swartland Mourvèdre 2014 (2x750ml)

Black cherry infused with cardamom and nutmeg on the nose. Intense fruit shows well on the palate, with elegant iron-like tones adding to the savoury character of the wine. Medium- bodied with elegant oak from the old French barrels.

Swartland Syrah 2012 (2x750ml)

Aromas of cedar and cherries layered with notes of white pepper. The palate reveals dark red fruit with structured tannins for ageing. Darling Syrah 2012 (2x750ml) The profile of this wine is already perceptible when tasting the thin-skinned berry in the vineyard. Black pepper, violet and red fruit perfume the nose, accompanied by an elegant spice on the palate.
