Sanlam Secure Services is the new client-facing website that consolidates information from Sanlam Private Wealth (SPW), Glacier, Sanlam Collective Investments (SCI) and Sanlam Individual Life & Segment Solutions (SILSS), and replaces existing Secure Services capability (of which SPW was not previously a part of).

In 2015, Secure Services will be expanded to include Employee Benefits and Sanlam Sky Solutions.

You will be able to view a summary of your total portfolio with each of the businesses mentioned above, and you will be able to click through from Secure Services to the respective businesses’ websites.

The SPW Portfolio View has been upgraded with a complementary look and feel to match that of Secure Services and the new Sanlam public sites and it will be rolled out at the same time as the Secure Services site.

Both Secure Services and SPW Portfolio View have been designed in ‘responsive design’. This means that the website will adjust to fit the screen of the device you are using to browse the site with.

Functionality that currently exists in the SPW Portfolio View remains unchanged.

If you have existing usernames/passwords to the SPW Portfolio View, you will be able to continue logging on as you always have. However, you will need to register on Secure Services as your direct access to the SPW Portfolio View will close after 6 months, on 1 August 2015. After this date, no direct access to the SPW Portfolio View will be possible.

NB: Existing usernames and passwords are not recognised on Secure Services.

If you are a new user, you will register directly on Secure Services. From here you will be able to click through to the SPW site.

When you register with Secure Services, you will need the following:

  • A valid Sanlam product number from any of the business mentioned above
  • A valid cellphone number previously recorded at one of the participating businesses.
  • A valid email address previously recorded at one of the participating businesses.

During the registration process, you will need to have your cellphone with you, as a temporary password will be sent to you by SMS. As with online banking, you will need to enter this temporary password before choosing a new password.

A user can register as:

  • A client: an individual acting on his own behalf
  • A proxy holder: an individual acting on behalf of another individual
  • An authorised representative: an individual acting on behalf on a non-natural entity like a trust or a company.

Important to Note:

If you need to access additional accounts for other legal entities (e.g. spouse, trust, company, etc.) you will have to follow a separate process when registering on Secure Services. This is described below.

The ‘Sanlam Secure Services: Registration of Proxy’ form needs to be completed. (This can be downloaded from the Secure Services site and has been attached to this document.)

  • The form must be signed by the ‘proxy giver’ (the person giving the authority) and the ‘proxy holder’ (the person receiving the authority)
  • The following supporting documents are required:
    • For the proxy giver:
      • copy of ID document.
      • copy of utility bill in the name of the proxy giver with the residential address displayed, (preferably a cellphone account,) not older than 3 months
    • For the proxy holder:
      • copy of ID document
      • copy of utility bill in the name of the proxy holder with the residential address displayed, (preferably a cellphone account), not older than 3 months

The ‘Sanlam Secure Services: Registration of Authorised Representative’ form needs to be completed. (This can be downloaded from the Secure Services site.)

  • The form must be signed by the representatives of the institution that owns the product as well as the authorised representative.
  • For a company, trust, partnership or closed corporation, the relevant directors, trustees, partners or members must authorise this nomination.
  • The following supporting documents are required:
    • copy of ID document of authorised representative
    • copy of utility bill in the name of the authorised representative with the residential address displayed, (preferably a cellphone account), not older than 3 months
    • if you are changing an authorised representative currently on Sanlam’s records, please also submit a resolution or confirmation letter signed by all the required signatories

Secure Services is for clients only. Intermediaries will continue to register and access the SPW intermediary site.

An intermediary cannot register as a proxy holder.

Sanlam iTrade has two logins; the Sanlam iTrade website and the IRESS trading platform.

Due to the nature of the iTrade business, clients will continue to log on directly to the iTrade website. However, should a client register on the Client Portal and he/she has an iTrade account, the client would also be able to access iTrade with a click-through from the Portal.

The logon to the IRESS trading platform will remain separate.
