One of Sanlam Private Wealth’s international funds has scored a hat-trick of prestigious industry awards in London over the past few weeks. The Sanlam Global High Quality Fund walked off with accolades at this year’s Investors Choice Awards, City of London Wealth Management Awards (COLWMA), and Private Asset Manager (PAM) Awards.
The Sanlam Global High Quality Fund won in the Long Only Equity Fund – Long Term Performance category at last month’s Investors Choice Awards. The awards recognise managers who’ve achieved outstanding risk-adjusted returns and are judged on a qualitative and quantitative basis by investment professionals across the industry.
The fund was for the second time named winner in the Best Fund category of the COLWMA. These awards, which recognise quality of service from the very best wealth management companies and individuals, are particularly highly valued, as investors themselves vote to determine the winners in each category.
In February, the Sanlam Global High Quality Fund scooped the Investment Performance: High Growth Portfolio prize at the annual Private Asset Management (PAM) awards. These awards, now in their 20th year, are widely regarded as among the most prestigious in the industry. A panel of leading independent experts from across the private client advisory and related professions judges the entries on the basis of consistency in both investment performance and level of client service.
The Sanlam Global High Quality Fund forms part of Sanlam Private Wealth’s global equity offering, which includes segregated mandates. It was established in February 2014 to meet the increasing demand for global investments among Sanlam Private Wealth clients, and invests in blue-chip international companies that have diverse sources of revenue in terms of product line, geography and currency.
The fund aims to produce total returns in excess of the MSCI World Index over the medium to long term. It’s managed on an active, unconstrained, benchmark-agnostic and high-conviction basis while tactically using cash as a risk management tool. Ranked among the top funds globally in 2017 based on Trustnet data for the international peer group, it has since inception beaten both the FTSE All Share Index and the broader MSCI World Index.
‘We’re absolutely delighted with these top industry accolades,’ says Pieter Fourie, Head of Global Equities at Sanlam Private Wealth and lead manager of the Global High Quality Fund. ‘Winning these awards is a huge achievement, reflecting not only the strong performance of the fund, but also the rigour and focus with which it is managed.’
Daniël Kriel, CEO of Sanlam Private Wealth comments, ‘We’re immensely proud to have been given the nod by not only our industry, but also investors. These accolades show that our decision back in 2014 to establish the Global High Quality Fund in London was the right one, which has paid off handsomely for our clients. The awards demonstrate the commitment of Sanlam Private Wealth to building market-leading products and services that meet the needs of our clients.’
